History of the Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department was established in 2010 under the name Manufacturing Engineering, concurrently with the foundation of the Faculty of Technology in Simav. Since its inception, the Department has been committed to delivering high-quality engineering education and conducting academic activities in line with scientific and technological advancements.

In 2017, the Department was restructured and renamed as the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This transition was undertaken to broaden the academic scope of the program and to further align its curriculum with contemporary engineering practices, emerging technologies, and industry needs.

Today, the Department continues to advance its educational and research activities with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and the development of highly qualified mechanical engineers equipped to meet the challenges of the modern engineering landscape.
