T.C. KÜTAHYA DUMLUPINAR ÜNİVERSİTESİ
A Project Development Activity was organized for the students of our department by Cemre Kesen, a third-year student of our department. During the event, participating students had the opportunity to learn about the stages a project undergoes from the initial idea phase to the implementation stage. Cemre Kesen shared her project development experiences and explained these stages through practical examples, providing valuable insights to her fellow students. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our Head of Department, Semra Durmuş Acer, for her support in organizing the event, and to our student Cemre Kesen for delivering a successful presentation.
In the Spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, our students presented their final projects as part of the Final Project course. Our students Abdikarim Hassan Jama, Alperen Karahan, and Erol Kümüş succesfully presented their work in presentations judged by Prof. Semra DURMUŞ ACER, Assoc. Prof. Vedat TAŞDEMİR, and Asst. Prof. Murat KOYUNBAKAN. We congratulate our students on their successful work.
Our event, featuring Hakan Öztürk, Deputy Chairman of the Eskişehir Branch of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (TMMOB), Ayberk Yıldırım, Technical Officer responsible for the Mechanical Installation Commission, and Asst. Prof. Hasan Donat YILDIZAY, head of the Kütahya Provincial Representation of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, was held in the Blue Hall of our faculty. In this program, where the institutional structure, commissions, and services of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers (MMO) were presented to our department students, our esteemed speakers shared information about both the MMO and mechanical engineering. During the Q&A session, the speakers engaged in a pleasant conversation with our students, and awards were presented to them by our department's academics. Following the event, productive conservations took place in the faculty foyer area with refreshments for our students, academic staff, and visitors. We express our graditude to our Deputy Chairman Hakan Öztürk, Technical Officer Ayberk Yıldırım, and our esteemed professor Hasan Donat Yıldızay for adding value to our faculty and department with this valuable event.
On Monday, October 27, 2025, at 09.00 AM, a TEKNOFEST Intoduction and Information Meeting was held in our Faculty's Blue Hall for our first-year students. The meeting was organized by our Faculty's NÖROREFLEKS team, which participated in the TEKNOFEST 2025 finals in Istanbul between September 17-21, 2025, in the "Technology for the Benefit of Humanity" category. We congratulate the NÖROREFLEKS team for their successful presentation, which aimed to share their experiences and the importance of such competitions with our students. They reached the finals in a competition with 565.000 teams and 1.200.000 competitors from 96 countries. We also thank our students for their interest in the introductory meeting.
Simav Technology and Culture Student Community Organizes Technical Visit As part of the Technical Visit organized by our Faculty's Simav Technology and Culture Community, our first-year students visited Kazcıoğlu Industrial Company. During this technical visit, students had the opportunity to closely examine the company's production line and modern manufacturing technologies. In informative presentations given by company officials, detailed information was shared about production processes, quality control practices, and R&D studies. The organized visit was very productive, allowing our students to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical application and observe the industrial environment firsthand. We would like to express our gratitude to Kazcıoğlu Industrial for providing our students with the chance to see practical environments in addition to the theoretical knowledge they have gained or will gain in their education, and to Simav Municipality for their assistance with transportation.
Our students participated in the Erasmus Days 2025 Information Event held at Faculty of Engineering on October 16, 2025. In the event, organized within the scope of Erasmus Days, which are celebrated simultaneously across Europe, students were informed about Erasmus+ learning and traineeship mobility opportunities, application processes, selection criteria, and the importance of international experiences. In addition, students who had previously benefited from the Erasmus+ program shared their experiences and guided students who wanted to apply to the program. Erasmus Days events aim to increase intercultural interaction among young people, strengthen international awareness, and introduce the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program. Our faculty continues to support our students' participation in such international programs.
An orientation program is being held for first-year students in our faculty. Within this framework, our department professors are providing students with detailed information about the study hall and library, students affairs office, department secretariat, dean's administrative units, laboratories, and workshops located within our faculty. We congratulate our students who will be pursuing undergraduate studies in our gacluty departments once again and wish them a successful university life.
The graduation ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year was held at our faculty. The ceremony, which took place on June 26, 2025, at 6.00 PM at the Simav Dr. İbrahim Naci Eren Campus, was attended by our Rector Prof. Süleyman KIZILTOPRAK, our Vice Rector Prof. Ayhan KAHRAMAN, our Mayor Kübra TEKEL AKTULUN, members of the district protocol, the President of the Simav Chamber of Commerce and Industry Şeref KAZCIOĞLU and his wife Nurhan KAZCIOĞLU, our academic and administrative staff, graduating students, and their families. Following the protocol speeches, certificates of achievement were presented first to the students who achieved top grades at the faculty level and in their departments, and then to all graduating students. After the presentation of the certificates, our students celebrated their graduation by throwing their caps in the air. The ceremoy concluded after the traditional graduation rice meal.
